Colourful, creative and with a sense of quality is how the cultural scene in Langen presents itself. Art exhibitions are just as much a part of the programme of events as theatre, cabaret and dancing events. Renowned artists from all over the world perform in the New Civic Hall (www.neue-stadthalle-langen.de). This is also where the modern City Library (www.stadtbuecherei-langen.de) with its wide assortment of current books as well as audio and video media for both adults and children is to be found.

 

A further main focal point is the arts and leisure centre “Altes Amtsgericht”, home to the municipal archive, Volkshochschule (www.vhs-langen.de) and music school (www.musikschule-langen.de). The city museum in the “Altes Rathaus” illustrates life in Langen from pre- and early history up to the present day and enriches the city’s cultural life in the shape of special exhibitions.

 

The wide variety of cultural and leisure activities on offer would be unthinkable without Langen’s Clubs. For example with regards to music: the Jazz Initiative, the Kunst- und Kulturgemeinde/Arts and Cultural Community, as well as a number of choirs and orchestras ensure that Langen sounds good.
